Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical

Watching Matilda on Broadway felt like a new experience to me. Maybe it has been a long time since I read the book or seen the movie. I was reminded of the storyline as the play progressed. I thought the show was charming and a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it, and it is very family-friendly.

The stage was artfully done. It was very interactive, and the shelves that made up the set was colorful and never boring. My favorite part would have to be the children on the swings during the song “When I Grow Up.” The actors were very lively, and there was never any lulls in the story. The play was funny and enjoyable and I left unconsciously humming the songs. I highly recommend watching this play if you ever get the chance!
